Hey All.............

I received a Christmas gift from my wife that completely caught me by surprise this year: A new Taurus 24/7 9mm. My first 9mm and I'm rather pleased with it so far.

We'll have to see how it ends up ranking among my 1911's, Glock, Beretta, Smith & Wessons, etc......but so far, I really like it. She had an extra 17rd. mag and a box of Magtech ammo added for only $309. I thought for that price, she made a nice purchase and helped to increase our "investments" :D .

My brother has had a 24/7 stainless .40 for several months now and likes it quite a bit. I think it might take a backseat for a while though since his wife got him an OD Glock 23 for Christmas.

I heard shots at 9:15 a.m. Christmas morning and new he received his gift........about an hour later, he heard mine.

Congrats... got money for a new gun.. but can't decide what I want..

40 or 45... or go with value purchases and get one of each....

I can't decide...

Good little gun. Mine was 100% reliable. I replaced it with the smaller Millenium Pro which is also 100% reliable. Trigger takes some getting used to (I'm still working on it but improving). One thing though don't pull your hair out figuring out how to take it down. Basically, after you're sure the pistol is empty, just lock the slide back and push the take-down lever down. Now, just pull back on the slide and ease it forward until you see the take down lever pop out. Now, you can lock the slide back again and easily pull the take-down lever out. Then, its just a matter of slipping the slide off while pulling the trigger (I know, I know but you can't have everything!). Its actually easier than it sounds. Its just that the manual doesn't really give you all the steps!

Thanks for the takedown info.

That sounds a bit different from the Glocks, 1911's and such. I'm sure it won't be that big of a deal once I do it a few times. I used to be able to strip a 1911 in eleven seconds blindfolded........and put it back together in fifteen seconds. Ahh....the good ol' days. It takes me 15 minutes now!

The big problem people have is getting the pin out without using a tool. My technique avoids this. Putting the pin back in is hard until you figure out that you need to rotate it in and snap it home after.
