I'm taking a poll. Agree or not?
Little known American Historical Fact

What you will see in the video is a Hollywood depiction, but the event itself was real. (TN 2a 102)

I was completely unaware of this event that took place in Athens , TN in 1946. I did not know an armed revolt on American soil by WWII veterans ever took place during our lifetime. A very sobering video to say the least.

Now the second amendment should be a little clearer to everyone.
This movie lasts less than four minutes and is well worth the time.

FIRST FACTS:
Please do not delete this bit of US History of which many Americans have no knowledge. View it and share it and pray that we will never need such a response to government!

Will have to watch when I get home work blocks it. Does give me something to research while I'm here today though.

The Battle of Athens video gets posted here at THR about once every 2 months.

Oh man. Where have I been? Guess I'll go sit in the corner with a dunce cap on!

I believe these things are giong to happen again, people are being run over by big business ,and that is who is running this country . it must be awful to have the burdin of making six figures on capital hill ,and I mean both parties alike, and to have some lobbiest hand you tons of money. only in politics is this legal every place else its jail time. Just seems a little wrong to me but i'm nobody!

My mother lived in Athens during the "Battle of Athens" , I have a revolver that her older brother carried when all that was happening.

I used to live about 20 miles from there. they don't call us the Volunteer state for nothin

I saw that movie about a year or so ago. Good message to those who believe firearms haven't been used for anything positive. Antis were never really good with history.

I saw a special on that years ago, quite inspiring. These vets that just survived hell still risked their lives and freedom to do what was right. Would/will we all be that brave?

I've known about the Battle of Athens since I was 11 or 12... I was homeschooled. :neener: I've wanted to visit Athens ever since.

That is too awesome for words! I'd love to hear any details if you have any.

Very interesting! Could tell it was an Hollywood depiction when the vets were standing on jailhouse steps after the door was blown and his finger was curled all over the trigger. At least it was pointed in safe direction
