97AD606C-A8E1-4229-B8DC-32DE78E78886.jpeg Took my Remington 700 5R rifle (.308 with action work done and a HS Stock) out a couple days ago and shot at 500y. First groups were 1.3 and .76 MOA. And then I managed this group of .38 MOA. Dialed 3.0 mil elevation and .3 mil windage.

This rifle always makes me smile. Load is 43g of Varget and a 178g ELDX with Lapua brass. Hillside in the distance is where the target was set up.

Hi Peakbagger,

there are three things I do NOT like about your post:
1. I envy you for being able and allowed to "just go out there and shoot", since I live in a country that doesn´t allow this. Shooting is strictly at certified shooting ranges.
2. I envy you for your obviously nice rifle and setup.
3. I envy you for your rifle shooting skills.

All in all that makes me a bad person, I fear ;-)

Half-joking aside: GOOD JOB, have fun and keep on enjoying this very special freedom!!

Greetings from ole "everything is forbidden except things and actions especially and formally allowed" Germanistan!

Well, don’t envy my shooting skills as I didn’t post my two other (much larger) groups. That rifle is usually much more capable than the shooter.

As far as freedom and public land, yes some of us are very blessed.

Back in the 1960s, when I was but a boy, my Father explained Communism to me that way. Of course, what he really meant was Statism, but the difference was too fine for my young brain.

In a free country, everything not specifically forbidden is allowed.
