1) Taurus PT 24/7 9mm
2) SA XD/40
3) Ruger Mark III

All have had 500+ rounds through them, but the 9mm and .40 will slow down now that I have the .22LR. (cheap ammo!). However, now I want a 1911. I haven't had a single problem with my Taurus, so to save my wallet, I might get a Taurus 1911...

Welcome to THR. Nice little collection you have started there. Be careful, they have a tendency to multiply like rabbits when left to themselves. Before you know it, you'll have dozens.

Welcome aboard!! I've got two out of the three you show, although my MarkIII is the Hunter. Beautiful weapons - all of them.

As a "starter 1911", the Taurus is tough to beat. Lots of features for not lots of money. I'm at the point where I'm looking for a "high end" 1911 but I sometimes wonder if it's worth the extra money (thousands) over a starter 1911.

Happy Shooting!

i don't think a spinger milspec or GI would be more than a taurus 1911 would it? i never bother to look at anything taurus so i don't know their prices, but i can't imagine that they're that much cheaper or if they are cheaper at all, so i'd go with a springfield 1911 instead. and if price is all you're concerned about, wouldnt a rock island be the top choice?

Some great guns there, but don't get a Taurus 1911. Don't get me wrong, they make good guns in my opinion, but the 1911 belongs to Colt, Kimber, and Springfield.

Go with a milspec, and you won't be disappointed.
