I've been debating posting this thread for about a month now. Here goes...

About a year ago I purchased a DW Bobtail in 10mm. I had some issues out of the box, but expected some break-in time. I won't go into detail about all the issues, but I will say that they didn't work themselves out. My dilemma was that I loved this gun. I've got smaller hands and it fit's me incredibly well. It's more accurate than I'll ever be.

Anyway, one day I finally go fed up and called DW service. Scott told me he'd heard of all the issues I was describing but never all in one gun. He promptly sent me a shipping label and asked that I send it in right away. So I drop the gun off at Fed/ex on a Tuesday, I tracked the shipping and saw that it was signed for that Friday afternoon. I thought I'd give them a week and then call to see what they'd found. Monday around noon I get a call from Scott, I'm expecting him to tell me they received the gun and would get on it as soon as they could. Nope. Scott was calling to tell me the gun was done and would be shipping out that day.

So I'm thinking that the whole problem must have been caused by something small, something I missed. Well, it turns out I had a bit of a lemon. They replaced the extractor, re-tuned the ejector, replaced the barrel with a match grade ramped barrel, and machined the frame to make room for the ramp. They threw in a new recoil spring too. Oh yeah, Scott said there were a few tiny scratches on it, so the re-polished the entire gun.

All this happened between noon on Friday and noon on Monday. The gun was back in my hand's in a couple of days. After a couple of trips to the range I'm excited to say that this gun is all that I had hoped it would be.

I really didn't think service like this still existed. They never questioned me, or pointed at my reloads as an issue. They just said "Sounds bad, send it in and we'll fix it". My hat goes of to the crew at Dan Wesson. They have a customer for life.

WOW. :D That's great. Glad that you're happy and glad to hear that DW took care of you. And fast too.

Thanks for sharing.

I to had problems with my Pointman 9 right out the box. They promptly sent me the shipping labels and I got it back in about 3 weeks. I have only shoot it 100 rounds sense it's return, but I didn't have any problems.
