Kinda screams "PIMP" to me It should be a crime to do that to a Delta Elite :banghead: Naw, its your gun and I'm glad you like it. Definite improvement on the grips pictured in the original post
Took about 6 hours of labor including stripping, cleaning, blasting, cleaning, degreasing, coating, plus about an hour and a half of bake time, and reasembly.
Both guns were showing their age and if I didn't keep them oiled up good they wanted to rust here and there. Better to get a long lasting coat on them so they can continue to be a shooter than let them waste away in a safe somewhere.
The red in the pictures is a little brigher than they appear in real life. My digital camera tends to over-saturate red. In person they're still loud but slightly less so Definately not for everyone, and I'm still scratching my head on the .50 barrel. Don't know if it will stay that way or not. It's a quite a bit of real-estate to be that bright of a color.
Sorry to disapoint 41mag but no pearl or flake finishes on these. If I had gone purple maybe
I think I'll tone the "bomb" down by just leaving the chamber area red and redoing the rest of the barrel in black. It will keep in theme with the magazines better that way too.
Blue seems to be a popular theme. My friend Kamicosmos has a Beretta that's seen better days. If he'll let me, maybe I'll pick up some blue and do it to see how it turns out. A nice deep navy blue done like the OD versions should look good
I have lurked around here for quite a while, and must say as my 1st post... ...one more delta bites the dust... .But its yours and i respect the work you put into it.
Hey, it's your bar of soap and washcloth. You can scrub as hard and fast as you want to, nobody's gonna stop you.
I want to refinish my Desert Eagle, it's got a lot of color variations in the original blueing. But I would never have thought of cop-catch-me red. Parkerizing is your friend.
Blues Bear is absolutely right, it's like a train wreck or a big ugly in skimpy swimsuit, you just have to look...
I really like the Desert Eagle in red. I've never been too fond of it at all in terms of looks, but in red... it just seems right to me for some reason.
It will stick to aluminum, but not as well. Helps if it's anodized before being coated but not absolutely nessiary. No idea on Ti. As for the jewelling I did it myself with a brush and compound had from Brownells or MidwayUSA, can't remember off hand, a Cummins $40 drill press, a swivel hobby vice, good lighting and a little care.
