Just bought a slightly used springfield armory model 1911-A1 , just curious of any bodys experience with this auto, good or bad thanks for any opinions.
I have a Springfield Mil Spec and love it! It's a very good base gun for later customization. However, it's been an excellent performer out of the box. Keep us posted and enjoy!
Two Thumbs up for my Mil Spec SS, I love it. Totally reliable and an excellent platform for upgrades. Should be a very reliable gun and if not Springfield Armory has excellent customer service. Really love my Mil Spec. Enjoy it and shoot it!
Springfield 1911s are my favorites. I CCW'ed one for years. I have 5 or 6 of them - either Springfield manufactured or customized - and they've all been great.
IMHO, they produce one of the best 1911s for the money and their customer service is outstanding. They stand behind their products.
If you ever have to send your pistol to them don't be surprised if it comes back with additional "touches" compliments of their smiths.
I just got a loaded springer and love it! It never jams and is fairly accurate to boot. I do wish I would have purchased one of the new Range Officers for the adjustable rear sight but I can have on installed pretty cheap.
i have a springfield 1911 loaded target love it very accurate reliable The only think i have against it is the black adjustable sights other than that its perfect
thanks for all the posts on springfield 1911!! I thought the fit and finish of the 1911 was nice when I bought it.hope to shoot it soon in early spring at are local outdoor range.
I purchased my 1911A1 in 1988 and have been in love with it ever since.I have shot thousands of rounds through it.I had it customized a little at a time it is totally reliable.I carried it for years and wouldn't even think of parting with it.
My usual carry gun is a S/S Springer Compact .45 and I am more than satisfied with it.
When a police confiscation Springer 1911-A1 came up for sale at $275 I jumped at it. Mine has a parkerized finish and I noticed that all those pictured in this thread appear to have other than parkerized finishes. I thought that Springer's A1 only came in my gun's finish. Can anyone shed some light on this?
PS - This one is a keeper too and it accompanies me when I'm in the woods.
when I first bought my 1911A1 it came with a parkerized finish. After a year or so I had it blued.A few years later I had it Duo Toned. It has shiny sides and a flat gray on top, backstrap, and the front strap.
