Help with manufacture date on Springfield 1911

Sorry for not having any pictures. The gun is a Springfield Armory 1911 A1. The serial number is 265xx.

Look under right grip panel maybe... or a phone call to Deb at the factory should do the trick.

Nothing published that I know of for their mfg in regards to serial numbers and respective dates. I take it you bought it used?
