The rear C-clip on my CompTAC CTAC, with which I carry my G26 daily, was finally showing signs of age. It's almost 2 years old now and a couple days ago I noticed the tension on it had significantly diminished and it was sort of sprung open a bit. I swapped the clips to see if I could still use it as-is up front but it still felt too lose for my taste. I have another CTAC for my G17 so I considered stealing a clip from it until I could order a new one.
Then I had another idea. Since there was nothing to lose on an unusable clip and I had 2 others in good condition I could swap in if need be, I decided to try to fix the one I had. I brought a pot of water to a good boil and put the clip in for about 15 seconds until it started to open up some more. Then I clipped a light-tension hard plastic clip for cereal bags/chip bags on to the middle of the CTAC clip to get it to close up.
So far so good. I looks like the clip returned to it's original shape and tension and is still flexible for putting it on the taking it off. I'll see how it holds up. If I have any problems, I'll post about them.
Anybody else played this game?
