I bought a NIB 12 ga. 870 with a black synthetic stock, 28" VR barrel, black parkerized type finish. Anyway, right out of the box after cleaning of course, it was patterning way right and low. So I thought maybe it's just something with the choke tube, so I put a different choke tube in it and it still patterned the same. So since I have quite a few 870's laying around, I switched barrels and it patterned just fine. I put the suspect barrel on one of my other 870's, and it did the same thing, low and right.
I'm really disappointed, I've never had any problems with an 870. I guess their quality just isn't what it used to be. Anyone else had a similar problem with an 870 barrel?
Remington has been good to me concerning this though. They have agreed to replace the shotgun, so no problem there at least.
