Hi everyone:

A few days ago, I made my first gun purchase. Beretta Storm CX4 45. (It was the first gun I rented and fired). I always enjoyed shooting this gun, so I figured I would go with what I like/enjoy as a first. A bunch of ammo is en route from natchez and should be here tomorrow.

I'm already browsing handguns and have my eyes on a SW .357, CZ 75 and a Glock .40. Is it normal to want more than one? :)

Congrats on the Storm. My friend has one in 9mm and I love that gun. It's my favorite rifle by far.

You came to the wrong place if you are looking for people who will encourage "self-restraint", and only one firearm purchase per month.

Oh yeah...congrats!

Is it normal to want more then one he asks. :scrutiny:

Well fankly yes. If you shoot for pleasure then you will likely want lots of different options and choices.

100 is not enough!
I started out with a 10/22 and now I have so many guns I dont know where they all are at any given time. Its not even close to being enough!- Art

the storm is a TON of fun to shoot. you'll have half the people at the range coming to check it out. my buddy bought one and the px4 so that he could use the same mags for 2 guns.

I've heard nothing but good things about the CZ 75 plus I like the way it looks, so I think that will be my second gun! Can I run +P in the CZ 75?

Looks like I will need more ammo! Hah.

Get yourself a real .45

A SAA clone or a ruger single action. Nothing puts a thump downrange like a 255 gr SWC.

Yes it's normal, I only own 2 and want more O_O. Sadly my first and currently only centerfire rifle is my m44 Mosin Nagant, so I got surplusitis early

Need......more.......Mosins......

CX4 is an awsome gun i have it in the .40 cal version. I plan to when i turn 21 buy the companion berretta pistol for it. Then i can use the same magazines for it as my CX-4. The best thing about the cx4 is its customization potentail.

Xarlok, congrats on the first gun!

Now you have done it. It's like trying to eat only one potato chip. You can't do it no matter how hard you try.

And don't even think about getting a C&R license. You will have flyers in the mail and a constant drool. LOL.
I know, I got one.

But all in all, have fun and play safe.

Is it normal to want more than one?

Unfortunately, its a little too normal.

My buddy as a 9mm cx4. Its alot of fun to shoot, and you are obviously on the right track for your next gun too because the CZ75 is hands down one of the best, most reliable/accurate handguns you can get, especially for the money.

Son, you've got the sickness now...And there is nothing you can do about it.

I only have one suggestion for you...Anytime you see the words "military surplus rifles" turn around and run because they are highly contagious.:D

Since you have a .45 carbine, you obviously need a semi-auto pistol in the same caliber hopefully accepting the same mags. Now you are set for Urban CQB, but what if you are in the woods, you need something that can reach out touch someone, maybe an AR-15 or an M1 or an M1A.... Well that covers that oops, what about home defense and penetration, you will need a shotgun. Then there is teotwawki situation, yep that means an AK, you can pass it down to young warriors in your post-apocalyptic tribe. :neener:

I bought my first gun last week (a mossberg maverick) and then quickly decided that I also needed a handgun and to get my CHL. So, I bought a S&W 908 on gunbroker three days later and yesterday I went out and bought a Ruger Mark II 22/45 that I saw in the used gun case at the local gun place. Plus I've bought ammo, shooters bag, cases, etc.

Is it addictive? Yes. I hadn't even been out to the range since I was a kid. Forgot how much fun it was.

Please show some self restraint when it comes to buying guns. Save some for the rest of us. :) Consider restraining yourself after you cross the 100 mark. But at that point, you're probably a collector and you want more.
