My First Rifle

My first "gun" was a single shot H&R 20 gauge that kicked like a damn mule for a skinny 10 year old. But my first rifle - and I feel VERY blessed to say this - was a pre-64 Winchester 94 30-30 that I got for Christmas when I was 15. My dad bought one for me and one for my brother that year. We were beyond elated. Still have it. My brother fell on hard times and chose to sell his (it was minty too!) but I loaned him mine last year and he shot his biggest buck, through the heart, at 150 yards with that gun last year. Funny how great guns just seem to always deliver great experiences.

Boy's version of the Winchester 67 single shot. Santa brought it when I was 8 years old. Lots of use under supervision before I could take it out on my own.

First rifle for me was a non import marked Norinco SKS at 15. I bought it but my dad did the paperwork at the pawn shop, and it was awesome. I already had a bolt action 12 ga, but the rifle was great. And ironically, the most accurate SKS I ever shot.
