Well guys, finished my first safety class today. Good instructor, about a dozen people and an hour of range time available after class. I can't say there was anything I didn't already know from doing my own research here and elsewhere on the net, but it was good to be able to bounce questions off someone certified to be an instructor and actually handling as many guns as we wanted. (I have fired a few times before, but never more than 30rnds at any given session.)

I was surprised by the age demographic though. I was definitely the youngest one there checking in at 40. We even had a very pleasant 60+ grandmother. (She rocked the range with a .22 and her best target sheet of about 12 rnds had half of those within the 10 ring or better - yeah!!!)

Anyway, I'm a little excited and had to share my results with the group. I used a Glock 17 and fired 100 rounds downrange. I tried out several different stances including a few weak arm rounds. (A little tough since I'm only 2 months out from surgery due to a shattered wrist.) Ok, on to the goods...here's my last 25 or so rounds from 7yrs (range provided FMJ rounds):

edit to add you can really see my groups of two!

Work on trigger squeeze and they will all be in the center.

Yeah, I was having trouble getting the grip comfortable in my hand and trying different spots on my trigger finger to see what worked best. I also just looked at the target, pointed and shot a few rounds and managed to keep those in the black - figured I have a decent natural point and shoot aim so that's confidence inspiring in and of itself. Sounds like now it's more about time behind the trigger and most importantly, finding a gun that really fits me.

Thanks for the words of encouragement to those that have responded so far- I'm just a little excited - can you tell? :D
