I took my Grand Daughter to the range today. It was her second time. The first time her hubby took her and she fired a .22 auto. The only .22 pistol I own is a Ruger MKII with a 10" bull barrel with a 30mm scope. I thought that would be a little heavy for her, so we took a S&W mod 15 with a 4" barrel, and a snubby. I started her out with the 4" and after she settled in and got relaxed, about 50 rounds, I switched to the snubby. We were shooting Win white box..and to say the least, I was surprised and VERY pleased at how well she did. She fired about 135 rounds, between the two guns, and the more she shot, the better she got..I noticed her flinching, talked to her about it, and she worked on that. She was also snapping off her shots, and I talked to her and a smooth trigger pull. It will take a few more trips for her to get the hang of it, but I feel certain that if some dirt ball kicks in her door, he is in a world of trouble. She had been told by her husband and her father-in-law that the snubnose would hurt her, and advised her not to shoot it. I told her I would teach her to shoot it and it would not hurt her...she listened to me, and we had a great time.........Her Mom (my daughter) passed away in Oct.. 05 with Ovarian cancer. She loved to shoot and was pretty good at it. The two guns we used today, was two that I had given to Her Mom..It has been a good day...
