It all started about 3 years ago when I bought a really nice Anschutz target rear peep sight. No rifle, just the sight. Thus began the hunt for something to mount to the sight. You all know how it goes... A few shopping trips with the sight in hand didn't turn up any options that were compatible. At least not that were within the "mad money" budget.
So a month and a half back at our big annual Gun Swap I run across a CIL 125. This being an Anschutz 1400 that was sold under the Canadian Industries Limited name. The price was right and the condition good to excellent. It came home with me.
From the stamping on the barrel it was born in 1966. It was either handled very respectfully or wasn't used a lot. It looks almost brand new with not even a lot of finish wear on the bolt or inside the receiver.
A Lyman globe sight with the upgraded Brownells inserts completed the build and it's been out and tested.
Oddly enough out of the meager ammo collection I've got it works best at 25 and 50 with Blazer ammo. The subsonic options patterned about 3 times as large as the Blazer. But that's fine since I've got two cases of Blazer to tide me over until the current panic nonsense peters out....
