My new 1964 PPK

Wow! Interarmco marked, that’s certainly a blast from the past for sure.

It looks hardly fired, if at all. That is an excellent one indeed, congratulations.

Stay safe.

I bought exactly one like that in 1966 and took
It with me and 100 rounds of GECO Ball ammo to Vietnam . I was a "Plain clothes" 97 B ( which meant unmarked fatigues) and nobody searched me or asked. Lucky I did as I got in country Two weeks before Tet 68 and was staying in the Continental hotel in Saigon waiting for orders that took a month ! No I never shot anyone with it. But had to pull it on shady Vietnamese a couple times. After getting assigned to a Psyops unit I traded it to an Air America Pilot for his cherry Greasegun and shoulder bag full of mags to go with my issue 1911 A1. That was first tour. I now have three German Walther PP in .22,.32 and .380 because they shoot better for me. The .380 is my least favorite and it is rarest in that model and am selling it next week. Yours is beautiful!

Wow, sounds like you had some exciting experiences in Vietnam! thank you for the compliment on my ppk,I’m rather proud of it. Thank You to everyone, for your kind comments!

Not surprising that it was hardly fired. I had one of similar vintage, and it was one of the most unpleasant guns to shoot that I have ever owned. (The Bond mystique misled me into buying it.) I traded it in for something else after a short time.

Amen!!

I had a SS Manhurin PPK/s .380 that sucked to shoot, too. So much so I sold it off long ago and kept a FEG SMK-380 knock off. I don’t know why, but it somehow felt better to shoot than the Walther design.

I forgot how much I disliked shooting the PPK series until this past November, when my Uncle asked me to reliability test his long-unfired SS PPK and clean & lube it for him.

The kid shooting it. A couple of magazines of FMJ, and he was good to put it down. 😇

Bonds gun was a .32 ACP which aren't that bad for recoil. Also the original PPK has a smaller grip than the later PPKS post 1968 ! I much more like the PP length pistol , but in
.380 it still is snappier than say a much lighter .380 like an LCP or a 9mm like a Glock 26 ! Even so Walthers are kewl 😎 . I prefer a Walther M1 PPS 9 mm as a pocket carry pistol.

Another thing about this pistol is that there is a number on the box lid, on the inside of the bottom of the box, and etched on the front strap of the pistol itself. Could this have been a German police issue at one time? IMG_0395.jpeg IMG_0397.jpeg IMG_0398.jpeg

Good catch! I've got one myself, only mine lacks the importer stamp on the slide (the Interarms info is embossed on the right-side grip), grips are black plastic, I've got no box, and the finish is a bit more worn (holster wear).
