sweet piece, bet it shoots as good as it looks. Might want to shoot plated bullets though, just for the asthetic value!!!! Jealousy will be rampant. You might not want to shoot it at all, it could never live up to the expectations of it's admirers.
Jim K is right, and if you haven't shot it yet I wouldn't - until you get it lettered by Colt. The .38 Special/8" barrel variant wasn't popular so they didn't make many, and most of those were blued because they were thinking in terms of a target revolver. One in factory nickel would be very uncommon I'd think.
WHEW ! What a beauty. Get a very soft rag, wipe it down and put in the safe. Get the letter from Colt, put it with the revolver and leave them both there! Don't shoot it either, get a pawn shop shooter if you want a shooter, PLEASE don't shoot this one.
I'll be the minority here and say shoot it. Life is pretty short. When you get your hands on a Ferrari, don't trap it in the garage. Take it to the track and let it roar.
