Great video. I have been loading for my rolling block for about 10 years now, and picked up some useful info from it that I can use. Thanks!

Hey, Jonny V.
Just wondering, my Remington with a Green Mountain bbl never fired the 530 postell very well, and I finally got a 480 spire point to work, you have much luck, or ever try the postell?

These rifles were NOT just for Buffalo hunting.

They were used in defense as well. Look up Billy Dixon and the Battle at Adobe Walls.

These single shot long range rifles were the heavy sniper rifles of their day. A 19th century M82 Barrett if you will. They could even be pressed into shortage range combat if needed, even the U.S. military used the Trapdoor Springfield in some capacity nearly up to WW1.

After trying a few different designs, this is my current bullet....

I've been working hard on my casting and I'm getting them to drop at a very consistent 501-502 grains. I think they run a little under what the mold is advertised at due to my alloy being a little off the formula Tom uses to make up the molds...

That's looks like a promising bullet. For one reason or another I never found the round nose varietys to fly consistantly from my rifle, and opted for profiles like you mention. Until I found the 480 spire point an RSCS mold, I was really scratching my head.
Thanks for the reply and sharing your info.
