i wound up getting a $300 SKB quad gun case for $140 lately and decided to make one of those nifty kits for a couple guns. bought some foam from foambymail.com and voila! my custom, wheeled, ATA apporved case o' fun!

(that's grip-pod on the bottom left. it wouldn't fit in there attached.)

just wanted to share. i've always wanted a cool case like this that you see in the movies. it
IS functional too. provides great protection for my guns too.

in case anyone is curious about the guns, the bolty is this one:http://www.thehighroad.us/showthread.php?t=415311 and the AR is a Bushy HBAR with Ergo grip, AAC quad rail, flip down from & rear sights, DPMS 4 rail gas block, EOTech 512 and an A1 flash hider and grip pod.

You should have cut some slots for AR mags. Or, you could always cut a slot for a handgun as well.

i still might do that. haven't decided yet. i thought about making a space for my carry gun, but i'm always carrying it so it would virtually never be in the case. night do a few AR mags and may 20 individual rounds of .308 poked into holes with the case heads showing.

Bobarino,
Nice. Now I have a link to a place that sells foam and foam accessories. (Not to be confused with foam paraphenalia.) What foam did you get?
Thanks,
WNTFW

i used 1-1.3 lb/cu ft polyurethane charcoal colored foam. i was considering a heavier density but i'm glad i went with this one. it works well and has a bit of give to it for shock absorption.

thanks :) i used an exacto knife with the replacement blades for the those orange plastic retractable razor knifes with scored blades. basically making a 2.5" long exacto knife. it turned out pretty good but not perfect. some of the lines are a little rough but i'll find a way to smooth them out.

It looks great and you did a good job. thanks for the link on the foam. looks like i have a project to look forward to now.
