Hey yall. I just scored a Mossberg 590 Mariner. I had a 500A Mariner, which I stupidly sold, but this time around I found my dream HD shotgun. I have wanted a M590 Mariner for a long time. Although I admit the Remington 870 Marine Magnum is on par with it, I prefer Mossberg. I could not ask for a better made 9 shot pump shotgun. Just picked it up today, so I have yet to test it on the range. I plan on getting a hundred round bulk pack just to test function and blow through some clays this weekend! Anybody with a M500 or M590 Mariner chime in! Now I have a matching long gun for my Ruger KP95!

I don't have one, but I too have one on the list! Sure is purty.

My HD gun too

It was the first gun that I bought. Sadly, it is too big for my GF to shoot though. I love it. I've had fun shooting clays with it. It is a fine home defense gun. I pray that I will never have to use it.

Where's your boat to go with it? These aren't home defense guns, they're boat defense guns.

If you look up Choate Stocks, they have a rear stock for that gun which has spacers where the buttplate is. I know, because I have one on my 500A. Also, you can purchase additional spacers if you want. Hopefully with no spacers and just the butt plate screwed on, that would fit your GF! These are not just flat spacers but are made to fit inside each other so there is no slippage whatsoever!

Got one just like that a while back on Gunbroker. You'll like it, I think. Do keep an eye on how the magazine spring behaves, some of them were having feeding troubles a while back due to weak mag springs. I replaced mine with a Wolff extra power spring ( http://www.gunsprings.com/index.cfm?page=items&cID=2&mID=103 ) just to be on the safe side. I always have a few replacement mag springs on hand for shotguns. The long ones can always be cut to fit a shorter magazine if necessary.

Awesome, can't beat the Mossberg control layout in my opinion.

Shoot it a ton!

Go duck hunting from the boat. Nice shotgun. A lifetime of shooting pleasure. Doesn't get much more versatile than that.

Thanks. I might get that sooner or later. Problem with being on a college budget is that you have to wait for awhile sometimes lol.
