I picked me up a new gun to take with me hiking in case I run into wild hogs or black bear. I got an Uberti Cattlemen single action .45 LC. I love this gun. It is my first real single action revolver and I am more than happy. Really accurate and easy to handle, but powerful enough to handle dangerous predators. I think this is the perfect backwoods carry gun.

This is 5 rounds at 10 yards.

I highly recommend this gun. Its fun to shoot too.

Nice group!

I have one in .357. With some Wolff springs, it feels even better, for a few bucks. You might not want the lighter target-style trigger spring for trail use, but the mainspring smooths out the trigger pull nicely.

Welcome to the world of single action shooting. I started with a Colt SAA back in the early '50s on the ranch. Still shooting them today. They do become adictive.

BTW, what load or factory ammo were you using??

That is a nice lookin' pistol. My next handgun will be .45 Colt--just haven't decided which to get yet.
Ditto on the load/ammo question.

That'll work!

Just double check that it's empty under the hammer...... hiking guns have a habit of getting bumped around a lot......
