Very nice rifle. I'm sure it's been fired and refurbished. The gray park finish doesn't look original. The CMP correct grade rifles are very nice.
 
Man, really nice rifle. I'm still kicking myself for not having picked up a few when you could get them for $350.
 
I'd bet it's been fired, but that rifle has never been abused. It's a nice-looking rifle. M1's are scary accurate to shoot in addition to being historically important. I can only imagine what it was like to be German, Japanese, or Chinese armed with a bolt gun going up against GI's armed with fast-firing and still accurate Garands.
 
Awesome. You guys with these CMP rifles really hurt my feelings. Makes mine look like a real beater, but it's still one of my favorite rifles.

How a rifle looks means very little as it is about how it shoots. Some of the most accurate M1 rifles I have seen used for match competition are less than beautiful. However, if your metal is good and the rifle shoots well why not give it a present and a makeover? You could also spend a little more and get finished wood.

The M1 is just an awesome rifle. I could stare at it all day. I also like the Lee Enfield No.1 Mk.3.
