I picked up this nicely restored M1 Garand a couple weeks ago. The previous owner didn't like the way it came out...........................I am very happy how it came to me. It is a WWII era Springfield Armory M1 Garand with lockbar sights. Now time to put Band of Brothers on the DVD player........:D

Looks great. I'd shoot the hell out of it and not worry about refinishing parts with finish already on them.:)

For $700 plus shipping I will leave it alone...

For $700 plus shipping I wouldn't put it down. Pretty good price for something a bit more substantial than plastic and aluminum. Have fun with it.

Congrats! Great looking rifle. And trust me, it's OK to fondle and caress your new M1 while you're in your recliner watching BOB, it really is!

Your M1 looks fine just the way it is. I worked on a CMP M1 that my brother had acquired, and except for refinishing the stock (primarily due to its long term storage), I left the rest of rifle as is. Some surface wear on a few areas of the parkerizing but nothing that took away from the overall appearance of the rifle. Great rifle, great price. Enjoy.

Looks perfect, good deal..looks like a late 1944 or early 1945....Just
remember...its hard to have just one....now you need a HRA, WRA, IHC..
