I picked the latest addition to my stable the other day. It is a used Glock 26. It came with a fobus holster and two mags, both with the grip extension. However, I removed the extension from one. I find it is just as easy to shoot without the extension and with the extension in place it is roughly the same size as a G19. I paid $400 for it.

I took it to the range and ran 75 Rounds or so through it with out a hitch. My only complaint is the trigger feels about 2 or 3 times as heavy as the trigger on my G19. I don't have a gauge to measure them both but just based on feel there is a huge difference. With the 19 I never felt a need to mess with the trigger but the pull on the 26 feels so heavy in comparision that I will be looking into trigger mods. The trigger would be bearable if I didn't have the 19 that was soooo much better.

Overall I am happy with the purchase and feel like I got a good deal on a good gun. I will probably try to tune up the trigger though. I am also in search of a good CC holster if anyone has suggestions.

sounds like a good deal!

i'd open her up and see if someone has put a NY1 trigger spring in or something?

i think a big part of the beauty of the glock design is that you're no more than the $.25 trigger job and maybe $10-20 from dialing the trigger to somewhere that makes you really happy...
i'd highly recommend the new glockworx race connector + their comp trigger spring... just put two of these set-ups into my G17 and G26 and i've never been happier (realistically around 4lbs with NO mush at all)!

for holsters, been carrying in a Blade-Tech Nano IWB and i love it!
if you gotta tuck in your shirt there's a small army of guys who swear by their m-tac's...

After a little bit of reading I wondered if that could be the case. After I get my S12 put back together (hopefully this week) I plan to open her up and have a look. I should probably just go ahead and order new parts so I only have to take it apart once. I have never detail stripped a glock but it looked like a managable task.

Thanks for the holster recommendations I'll look at those. If anyone has others, please, keep them comming.

Is there anything else I ought to know about the trigger. Parts recomendations? And where is a good place to order parts from? Keep in mind my end goal is a CC gun.

The Glock 26 is an amazing weapon; Not just a "great" weapon, but an AMAZING weapon. I own one as well and trust my life to it every day :)

Best holster I have ever used for any Glock is the plastic sport holster they sell. It carries the gun securely and high and tight. With the little 26, it'll be barely below your belt line and easily covered with a shirt. Lightweight and comfortable for all day, every day carry.

congrats on a great handgun.

as for good holsters look at blade tech, cross breed, comp tac mtac, and raven concealment. and there are several others but that will be a good start for you.

just pick up an 3/16" roll pin punch (same as the "glock tool") and maybe check out the instructions on alpharubicon's .25 cent trigger job site (do the polishing, you can use 1000-1500 grit and skip the metal polish if you want)... detail strip will take maybe 2 minutes (in seconds once you've done it once or twice...), think you'll find it pretty darn easy and uncomplicated.
you'll have your answer and/or your new parts installed in no time (one of the many reasons glocks are so great!).
If you think you want to try the glockworx connector and trigger spring do it soon while they're still offering free shipping (sucks paying $7+ shipping on less than $20 in parts...).
the trigger spring really has a positive effect, but I'd recommend skipping the lighter plunger/safety spring and the lighter firing pin spring if it's going to be a carry gun (never felt the need to switch them anyway once the trigger kicks ass...).
cheers!
