My Rem 870 jamming up on me?

I first bought a hone many moons ago, for drum brakes actually, but I have honed the chambers on dozens of shotguns, mostly other peoples, and never any of my own Remingtons over the years. After I polished the chambers of a Stoeger SxS with extractors you could flip the empties out with a jerk; amazed me. And I had one BPS 10 gauge that had a slightly rough chamber that I slicked up, and the forcing cones on a Stevens 411 (Baikal) were crudding up and I polished those. I think that's been it for my guns.

p5200,yes I have the flexhone chamber hone and have posted on this forum about it.It works very well.

Thanks! I have been thinking about getting one and, I think you have made my mind up for me. :)

I know this post is getting older, but thought I would add my 2 cents. I have owned several 870s and the two latest ones have had this same problem. I sent mine back to remington and they sent it back two weeks later with a note that they had polished the barrel. Excellent customer service, yet I had the same problem with cheap shells jamming even after I got it back. I ended up using a car cylinder brake hone with steel wool and jewelers rouge and the gun works like a dream. The chamber was "smooth" in my estimation before the polish that I did but now it is smoother than silk. I make sure and clean it after every shooting with a bore brush. Hope this helps. Send me a message for the info on how to polish the barrel.
