my Russian AK-74 Family

How are you liking your Combloc Customs finished IWD furniture? Why did you move away from the lighter color finish to the darker stuff? Or is this a different AK that you're hiding from us..

no not hiding anything from you. the thread was titled "my russian ak-74 family". that is my rifle, in the bronze finish, that you posted but it is not an AK-74. that is my SGL20 chambered in 7.62. i really like the color that Combloc Customs did on it, but i just didn't warm up to the Ironwood Designs wood. the wood is made from Baltic Birch, just like the original laminate but the contours were a bit frumpy. the laminate is not cross-laminate like the original and the profile lines are a bit off. i sold that set and put a "late" style Soviet laminate AK-74 set on there, as seen here:

12guageTim - I think you missed the OP's reply - he used Sov/Russian furniture.

Ah I didn't see that. Nevertheless, its soviet laminate refinished by CC.

to settle the confusion here.......the four AK-74 type rifles are all original Soviet laminate sets with original finishes. the 7.62 rifle that was posted with the Bronze finish is Ironwood Designs laminate with Combloc Customs finish and now has original Soviet laminate on it (as seen in pic above).

here is another pic of that rifle before i changed the furniture out:

Don't forget a Draco!

ok

Maybe a siaga?

maybe?

is the common denominator the fact that those are Russian guns? i dont mind highjacking as long as its relevant. those are nice weapons but i think they warrant the attention they deserve in a separate thread.

I always liked the look of the Ak-74 muzzle break.

It's sexy and effective. Recoil is negligible with one and my 74 doesn't rise off target at all with that brake.
