Hello All,
For some reason I can`t find the original thread I posted so, here is the update.

The gun was so messed up they are giving me a new one. It on the way back to me.

At least they stood by there rifles.

Good deal.

Now hopefully they won't take a bunch of time to send you a new SAR1. Make sure you check that they send you back a SAR1 and not a converted WSAR1.

Good Shooting

Well,
I took my new Sar AK to the range, I told them not to send me back the first one.
Which they did not, I got another brand new one right out of the box.

Looking down the rifle from butt to front sight post, things looked good. Upon further inspection it seems that the rear site block was not as hard to open for getting the gas pistion out which was nice.

I cleaned down the entire rifle and went to the range to conduct my final dealings with this rifle, if it turned out to be another lemon.
I was done !

I am happy to inform all of you this was not the case and my NEW rifle is dead on.
I also noticed that the rear site had a marking on it a BIG LETTER "G" on the rear sight block.

I guess this meant it was good and test fired before sent to me....

I put 200 rds threw my barrel and it worked without one malfunction thats a plus too:D

So, for the money and the bull I had to put up with for a few weeks turned out in the end I got a nicer rifle with matching wood this time and a one good shooter.....
Thanks Century.

That's GREAT Louie!

Coincidentally, *I* am going to try out MY SAR-1 later this afternoon. I bought one a couple of days ago!

Looks like you have a GREAT one now! Hope mine is OK!

Ive got the SAR 1 and the WASR 10(Hi Cap) both with about 200 rounds thru them and they work great. Wood on the WASR 10 was really crappy so Ive got wood camo on it now. Painted the WASR wood Black, both look great.

Now that you have a good SAR-1 I think you'll like it. I have about 400 - 500 rounds through mine without a single malf of any kind.

For all the bashing they get (much of which they deserve :D), it seems like Century does try to make things right for people who have to make returns.

Taking my SAR1 out this weekend to break in the FSE trigger group. :)

I shot mine today and it was NICE! No malfuctions. I had trouble sighting it in but so far I am blaming that on me using an older pair of glasses and a difficult to see target. -The last shot cut the center out of the bullseye at 25 yards but I am not sure if it is sighted in right (or even all that accurate even.) I was probably just "lucky" on that one.

I forgot to look for "trigger slap" but since I didn't see any problems with the trigger I guess it is OK.

I thought the front sight had a SLIGHT cant but the actual sight is almost centered now (moreso that it was when I got it). I was concerned that I would not be able to center the front sight with the cant but it appears to not be a problem.

The ONLY problem I had was trying to figure out how to remove a chambered round (without shooting it out). Racking the slide didn't work. It just went back into the chamber. I tried to pull the slide back and grab the round with my hand but the ejector didn't seem to want to let go! - I ended up shooting it out. - Anyone know an easy way to remove a chambered round other than shooting it out??? (Hmmm... I wonder if I just didn't pull the slide back far/hard enough???)

- Does a great job of those evil milk cartons full of water!

You're probably right, Boing. It goes back a lot farther than any of my semi-automatic handguns. ;) I will try it again tomorrow.

- Thanks

Well, my grandpappy always said, "Looks don't kill, unless it's two men fighting over a woman." I actually like the way my SAR looks. I don't care how the stock fits or finish on it is. It hits plumb center and never has had a hiccup yet.
