Well hi there guys. Today I finally installed an optical telescope on perhaps one of my favorite rimfires of all, the CZ-452 Military Trainer:

This is a Czechian-made arm that is used as a training rifle for various military units and cadet corps. This specific model, the 452, has been discontinued by CZ for a handful of years now. It is an amaking rifle to be sure. I plan on adding sling swivels and a leather shooting sling soon. Years ago I removed the swivels.

As the price of ammos continues to climb due to recent events, just about the only firearms I’m going to be able to afford to feed are my .22s, and a quality bolt action such as this CZ slows down the pace and lets me focus on my fundamentals. Oh what fun it is to “snipe” tin cans and little things like that at the range. I feel this telescope will be even more fun.

Just thought I’d share.

Nice rifle.
I have the 457 training rifle and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites.
The iron sights are excellent but my eyes aren't what they used to be so I too installed a scope. I can now shoot tiny groups at 50 yards and respectable groups all the way out to 100 with CCI minimags.

You are 2 for 2 with me this week....first the M1 Carbine and now the Trainer! I have 2 CZ 452's, a Trainer and a Scout. The Scout has been great for my kiddos to learn on and now is my daughter favorite rifle. I love the Trainer for just sitting around and plinking with friends. We usually set up a bunch of targets in the desert and then pass the rifle around taking turns shooting and giving each other a hard time for misses. I also have a 455 LUX with a .22 LR and Mag barrel combo. I really enjoy the craftsmanship of the 45x line of rifles and there is a lot less drama with cheap plinking ammo from a bolt action as opposed to a semi-auto.

A friend has the CZ 452. Really likes it.

He left Essen Germany around age 21 for the US, and despite his pride in German technology, he acknowledges the very high levels of Czech gun designs.

Based on the quality of my CZ PCR (9mm) and VZ-58 rifle…I would buy a Czech .22 rifle Sight Unseen.

When I got my CZ550FS in 9.3x62I wasn't really excited about the hogs back stock but after shooting and hunting with t I am growing quite fond of it. I have never had it catch on my heavy winter hunting coats as the design makes it glide right into your shoulder pocket. You have a very nice 22 there. I believe it will make a superb squirrel rifle. CZ makes some very nice rifles but they seem to be following our domestic gun makers to ever cheaper and uglier guns. That's a pity. Good shooting and hunting.

Interesting, I shot my 452 Lux today. I tried outa lighter trigger spring. I shot one hole groups at 25 yards with Tac-22 and Lapua ammo. Close to one hole with CCI SV. Love my CZ rimfires.

Sounds like a sweet gun, how accurate is it? I've always wanted a superbly accurate 22 just for plinking, but don't want to spend much.
Very hard to beat for the money. It's competition is the Tikka T1. Both are very accurate for the money. I consistently win small matches with either an American or Lux 452.

The 452's have become highly desirable. Nice set up you have there OP.
Here is my 452 Super Match and 457 Varmint. Both are way more accurate than I am.
