My two new toys. (pics)

Im sure i speak for everyone here when i say, new toys are the greatest!

Anyhoo, these are my two newest toys. The Kahr Mk9 elite, used, compliments of a great deal from a super nice THR member, ElCapitan. I qualified with her last week, and shot got shot a whole lot today, what a nice gun. I have a highnoon holster on order, and i can wait to start carrying her.

The sebenza comes, brand new, from a great guy, SuperD over at Ramanon.

I busted out the old giant Sony Mavica for this photoshoot, and I am darn glad i dusted her off. Even with my brand new Canon, nothing does close up work like the 5 pound dinosaur Mavica. Oh, and the mirror thing is a royal pain in the rump for photography...but the results are striking when they turn out right. I still think the secret to photography is to take as many pictures as possible...you MIGHT get 2 or 3 you like. And even with all of this work, i still cant compete with the great ones (lunde, im talking to you)

Take a look at the canon A60...i have one of those too, and while it doesnt do close up stuff as well, it is a great deal. I have one, and i think they are like 99 bucks at circuit city right now with some sort of rebate.

do a search on circuit city.

i have taken a lot of goodies with that one too, just need a tripod for close work....such as:

I've been looking at a SONY Cyber-Shot DSC-F717 Digital Camera so I can cool pics of my p239 and M40.

Arin those are some very nice photos. Congrats on the new gun. You are a better photographer then I am. I would love to see some shots of your Steyr on the mirror.

My wife has a little bit older Cannon the S220 she loves the small size and ease of use. We used to have one of the Sony CD cameras. We sure miss it, it took the best macro shots. The downside was that it is a big bulky camera. I am thinking about picking up another Sony for taking gun pics, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I have been too busy spending money on guns. What is your secret for getting the lighting so nice???

I just bought a digital cam (and I do photography for a living, including photos of guns and such), and I found the digi-cam to be far superior and more flexible (especially for closeups) than the 35mm system. The resolution and color accuracy might even make my Pentax 6x7 obsolete, too!! I see a second digi-cam in my future.....!

Nice to see someone else using mirrors as a base. I do it now and again, too. (I sold my P-239 some time ago, but not before I'd put Hogues on it. Nice.) The subtle finish on the Sig really photographs well, I've found.....

sturm, i personally use a stick lamp that has 4 100 watt bulbs on seperate swiveling heads. That, coupled with a white sheet draped over like a tent, to evenly disperse the light. When using artificial light such as that, make sure the white balance on the camera is properly set to the tungsten setting or equivalent...so that the pics dont look yellow.

I think im going to take some Steyr pics tonight...It hasnt been the subject of a photoshoot for a long time...way before i starting getting decent at photography.

ya, what WERE you thinking? Seems like a perfect full caliber carry piece. Even though it is heavy, it is still lighter than my other full caliber pistols. It may not be the MOST pleasant to shoot, but it isnt horrible either. Much more pleasant than my 32 caliber autauga.

I had a serious itch for an AR15 so I temporarily lost my head and sold my MK40 to finance one.

I've learned to never sell a gun again ... never ever ever!
