I decided to modify my Marlin 60 in the hopes of improving it.

Some of the main mods that are visibly obvious and some aren't. Listed in no special order. I am not 100% finished. I now have the plastic cracking and will get a DIP trigger & guard. I need to cleanup up the receiver metal.

1 - I decided to full length bed the receiver. I knew full well that this might not result in any improvement or that the news could be bad.

2 - Adjustable cheek piece: I always seem to be way too low on any scope and rifle combo. I wanted adjustable for a few reasons. All parts were done "in house" except for some raw materials. Inletting was fun, stock is harder that it looks. My main goal was safety & then don't ruin the stock. Initial cut on the stock took some gathering of nuts so to speak. I tuned up the band saw made a jig and some test cuts.

3 - Squirrel and squirrel skull: Irony is it will probably only be used on a range with paper. Obviously a throwback to the Glenfield squirrel stocks.

4 - Well 1 & 2 forced a refinish. But I am happy with the results.

5 - DIP 20 (or 25?) MOA rail. What is nice is I can easily swap a scope.

6 - Incidentals like a trigger over travel screw, sling swivels and some trigger tuning.

I really like the squirrels also, I have a feeling you could pick up more than a little spare change engraving for others if you were so inclined.

Thanks for the nice comments

CZGuy - I think I have $25 into the DIP picatinny rail and $14 into the sling and say $25-50 into bedding and finishing supplies. The rifle was given to me (unassembled) and so was that scope setup. A Super Sniper with rings and scope caps!! I even have a hand me down bipod and case for it. I found the chamber flag somewhere.

Bedding, cheek piece & inletting etc was just my time. I did the lasering myself as I am an engraver. The whole rifle setup is DIY & scrap pile for the most part. I did buy some small hardware for the cheekpiece so $5-10 for that.

I am going to buy a DIP trigger guard at some point as the plastic one I have is starting to crack. Not exactly the ideal scope either but not bad at all.

I have spent more on bulk pack ammo than anything else. I love .22s to the point that many times I don't even shoot centerfire on a range trip. I have only shot this one a little since I had a squib 2nd to last range trip and shot my 2 other .22s last trip which was indoors.

wow that is nice. yes what we do is all hand work. im not to fond of the coloring but this bear is one of her best (i think).
yours is a very new and fresh idea it looks great with that wood and metal too.
