I decided to modify my Marlin 60 in the hopes of improving it.
Some of the main mods that are visibly obvious and some aren't. Listed in no special order. I am not 100% finished. I now have the plastic cracking and will get a DIP trigger & guard. I need to cleanup up the receiver metal.
1 - I decided to full length bed the receiver. I knew full well that this might not result in any improvement or that the news could be bad.
2 - Adjustable cheek piece: I always seem to be way too low on any scope and rifle combo. I wanted adjustable for a few reasons. All parts were done "in house" except for some raw materials. Inletting was fun, stock is harder that it looks. My main goal was safety & then don't ruin the stock. Initial cut on the stock took some gathering of nuts so to speak. I tuned up the band saw made a jig and some test cuts.
3 - Squirrel and squirrel skull: Irony is it will probably only be used on a range with paper. Obviously a throwback to the Glenfield squirrel stocks.
4 - Well 1 & 2 forced a refinish. But I am happy with the results.
5 - DIP 20 (or 25?) MOA rail. What is nice is I can easily swap a scope.
6 - Incidentals like a trigger over travel screw, sling swivels and some trigger tuning.
