I called up my wife before coming home to make shure I got everything on the grocery list and everything sounded O.K. but then I asked how work went---- She works in a day care and one of the parents came in a little upset that morning. Thurs night when the parent was at home and upstares a 15 yr old and a 17 yr old boy broke into her home on the first floor. On the first floor was the pregnant baby-sitter watching TV, Without procation the two boys started to kick and beat the pregnant woman breaking her spine in three places and wounding her bad enough that she will probably loose he unborn child( please pray for her). The mother heard the baby-sitter sceaming and ran down the stairs finding the boys beating the baby-sitter and started whacking them with a phone untill they left. 30 MINUTES LATER
the MPLS PD showed up nad arrested the boys responsible THATS 30 MINUTES LATER!!! As a result My wife agreed to learn how to shoot and keep a loaded firearm availble for home defending. A horrible way to figure out your on your own in a crisis but better this way than being the one beaten.

S&W:

At least your wife now understands BEFORE she became one of "The Beaten" or worse. If not by you, then get her the best training you can. And that MN CCW permit. (Or whatever it is called there.)

:fire: :fire: :fire: I hope both those %&@*(%&# teenagers die horrible painful deaths and burn in hell, being constanly raped by Satan himself..:fire: :fire: :fire:

I would like to second that motion and ask that you please keep us inormed about the condition of the pregnent babysitter. Our prayers are with her.

I swear, I just do not understand what could drive two boys to do such a thing!!! Clearly, they are sociopaths, if not out-and-out psychotics, and should, at the very least, be put away for a VERY, VERY long time.

I'll pray for that poor woman.

I wish to hell your wife had had a gun and been trained to use it.

I have the same problem convincing my husband: he's nervous about me carrying my Glock 30 around with "one in the pipe", despite the fact that I hold a current Texas CHL, go to gun classes regularly, and practice drawing and shooting (including on the move) on a regular basis. I've tried to tell him that he should be GLAD he doesn't have to worry much about me being car-jacked, but it doesn't do any good. He's more afraid I'll accidentally shoot off the gun, hurting myself or someone else. And yes, I've let him shoot one of my Glocks. Doesn't make any difference.
His attitude is "Honey, nothing bad like that is ever going to happen to us."
(His exact words.)

Geez, what do I have to DO? :banghead:

Sorry, that should have been "wish to hell the BABY SITTER had had a gun", or the parent.

Personally, I'd have had no problem blowing those boys' heads off.

I'm sure that's what the baby sitter thought, too.

As far as I'm concerned, people who don't keep and bear arms are like people who don't have flash lights, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits: unprepared.

One heckuva way to figure it out.

May those teenagers be with Saddam's sons. There is no honor to be gained from beating up a pregnant babysitter. These "low-lifes" need no life.

It's sad that your wife had to "see the light" under those circumstances, but I'm glad she gets it now. Please keep us posted on the babysitter's recovery. Our prayers are with her as well as all of those involved.

As for those teenagers, my opinion is that a gun would be too "nice" for them. I would love to take a good solid Louisville Slugger to them for awhile and make their pain last like hers did! :fire:

THEN go for the gun! :D

How can you be so cold... those poor children probably suffered a terrible upbringing. Their parents probably neglected them and didn't hug them on a regular basis. And I'll bet the red meat they eat, explains their actions. They are just poor innocent victims. It's not their fault that they broke into that womans home. It's a good thing she wasn't a crazed gun nut and have done something as horrific as shooting them. Their death would lie on her conscience for life. Thankfully she had no way to inflict harm on them, because now they have the opportunity to be rehabilitated.
Beside they probably did her a favor and saved her the price of an abortion. Since it obvious she had to slave everynight in those rich peoples home taking care of their children. This way she will have more money in her pocket and won't have to waste it on the child to be.
I'm going to up my ACLU contribution and suggest they help these poor children with their legal defense.
Thank goodness the gun laws are working.
Affirmatively yours,

note: just to be on the safeside.. that was in total sarcasm.
I certainly don't mean to laugh at the situation. It was disgusting. My sincerest prayers do go out to this woman. My God a broken back, they have damaged her for life. Not to mention the potencial loss of her baby. :(

The scary thing is that there are people out there that think just like that. :cuss:

If guns are taken outa the house kids couldn't commit violent crime.... BULLCHIT!

yes Kids are capable of committing crime and should be treated accordingly.
My prayers are with the baby sitter and I hope the PERPS rot in hell!

S&W24: :(

Does the daycare your wife works at prohibit CCW?

Will she think about getting a permit, she doesn't have to carry when she doesn't want to but with permit she can if she feels need or want.

I assume you have a spare that she doesn't mind shooting?

BTW 30 minutes is a good response time in twin cites based on my personal experiance (if they show up it is a good response time).

Any chance one of the boys is an ex of the babysitter?

Tam,

It is incredible how many people have a false sense of security. Total denial that they live in the same world they read about in the papers and see on the evening news. I live in what is supposed to be a crime free neighborhood but keep a revolver in the night stand. As soon as I can afford it a 12 GA pump action will be added to the bedroom furniture.

I have come to the point of believing that "children" should pay for such extreme behavior with no question. It may damage their poor lives, but then they don't deserve a second chance when their victims don't have as much. They really need to realize that life is not a video game.

Next time he says that, tell him that you've finally seen the light and you agree completely. Give him a second to congratulate himself and then tell him that you've cancelled all the car, home and health insurance. If you have a monitored alarm, tell him you cancelled the monitoring service.

He might get the idea...then again, he might not.

Kharn: putting down rabid hominids would be fine by me...but recreational torture would make us a little too much like the critters we fight. Stay on the High Road.

Veloci851 - understood your facetiousness the first time. It sounded true enough :)

I got Kharn's satire the first time.
(Although I must say, at the risk of staring a horrible flame war, that I know a lot of liberals--I live in Austin!--and none of them are *that* extreme. But then, that's what satire is: an exaggeration to make a point.)
Me, I'm a moderate. Both sides have their strengths, their weaknesses, and some good points.

Just be sure that you wife understands that a gun sitting in the nightstand does her no good if someone breaks in while she is sitting in the living room watching TV. I am amazed at the number of people who do not go armed in their own home, preferring to leave a gun upstairs or clear across the house. You are NOT protecting yourself if you gun is more than arms length away and that includes while you are in the bathroom, be it on the toilet or in the shower.

What could possibly cause someone to do that to another person? You have to have some wires crossed to act like that toward antoher human being. May they be sentenced to a long term serving as bubba's playtoy.

I've been riding my wife to at least get accustomed to shooting the mossberg if nothing else (preferably the handguns) but so far she steadfastley refuses. She isn't anti-gun strangely enough, just has no desire to learn how to shoot a firearm. (she does know the 4 rules + how to clear all my guns, on my insistance). Gotta get her to the range.. soon.
