0223212018c.jpg 0223212018a.jpg So I purchased a model 41 last week off gunbroker. My lgs calls me today and informs me it has landed. I called my wife and asked her if she would be so kind as to pick it up as I wouldn't be able to get there before closing. I get home from work and inspect my Smith very happily when Lana says "I bought an extra case for your gun but I left it in the car, can you go get it?" In a minute I say. 10 minutes later " did you Gey that case yet?" No in a minute. 5 minutes later " Go get that case!" Ok. I knew something was up. She has immaculate taste. 0223212018c.jpg

How does your wife pick up a gun you ordered? Wouldn’t that make it a straw purchase if she filled out the paperwork? My LGS wouldn’t allow it.

Hey that looks familiar!
High Standard, well they truly are.

Never thought about it. My wife and I have both bought guns there for several years. I'm sure if there were any red flags he would inform us.

No. She filled out the 4473 and (I assume) answered the questions honestly and is not a prohibited person. I've had others do this when I was out of town after asking the local dealer about it.

On the other side of this I have bought a gun for a friend as a gift for a major milestone he achieved at work. I paid, he picked it up and filled out the paperwork.

@Jeff olson, that doesn't look like any High Standard that I have ever seen (particularly) the barrel). Is it particularly rare?

Not particularly rare. Less common than the round barrels. However, finding one like P5 Guys is uncommon. Very nice.
