Bought an 1848 parts gun off Flea Bay.:what: The piece had no cylinder which I knew. The bottom of the grip has the markings H 1432. On the inside of the grip on the metal is the number 13. The bottom of the barrel has the number 13. On the side of the barrel is the notation "BLACK POWDER ONLY MADE IN ITALY". The brass trigger guard has no markings. There are no other marks on the pistol. No proof marks. The frame is metal as it responds to a magnet The trigger and hammer are case hardened..Anyone have any idea what it is? Thanks, Spad

Judging from the description, it's an Italian made reproduction of a revolver.

Service Merchandise use to sell a 1848 kit. Unfortunately I can not recall who made it. I frequently wonder what happened to all of them. I figure most are like the .31 Remington kit that belongs to a friend's father, it was bought about 40 years ago and any day now he is going to get around to putting it together . I know this because he has said it every time I asked about it for the last 20 years.
