Ive had two kimbers and neither was worth the money, though I would imagine Sig would replace the parts on the rifles discontinued or not, I dont buy that story

The article also mentions that a couple of ALE's fancy-pants, full-auto SIG 552s seemed to have grown legs and wondered off. But don't worry, taxpayers were happy to pony up for more fancy gear. Those Bushmasters ought to be good until at least 2012.

Kind of ironic for the direction they went with their handguns, I have a friend who works for a similarly small-sized state agency who ended up ditching their Sig 220s in favor of Glocks for reasons that could be largely explained by substituting "Sig 220" for "Kimber" in the article. Lots of malfs and lots of headaches dealing with the manufacturer on armorer level maintenance issues.

On the Kimbers, though, at least they weren't using tax payer money. I'd say the decision was poorly thought out, particularly on the Ultra-sized back up guns, but at least the money was coming out of seizures and forfeitures.
