naa mini-revolver 22lr Q:

Out of curiosity, i was wondering if someone who has a naa 22lr with the 1 1/8 inch tube could test the Aguila SSS and find out the velocity for me please

gunblast fired some in a 2 inch BW and got 720 fps and therefore getting almost 70 fpe! in a 22 from a handgun! with 60 gr penetration!
stingers get about 45 fpe

just wondering how much less velocity the 1 1/8 will produce than the 2 inch
(already checked naa's website and done several searches)

Remember that the BW has the magnum length cylinder so the nominal distance the bullet travels, cyliner and bbl combined would be closer to 3"

I got an average of 636fps out of a 2" M34 and 866fps out of a 16.5" Marlin Papoose.

I went with the 1 5/8 bbl on my NAA LR but I haven't shot it over the chrony.

I will say that the 60gr SSS penetrates better than the 50gr 25ACP out of a Colt Vest Pocket.

I have be researching NAA quite a bit because we dont seem to have any dealers here that carry them. One item a saw was that supposedly the little 1 1/8 & 1 5/8. and only the 1 1/8 and mini master are legal here for purchase but naa will not support the MM here. What i dont like to hear about naa is i was told that on these smaller pistols they basically almost have no rifling. The larger models are supposed to have it but just try and find specs at naas site. Then in a few places they they list their guns are not made to shoot 20'. I dont have alot of faith in a company that would intentionally made a barrel that will only ever shoot poor on its best day. Looking further at thei pug, black widow and mini master they list no rifling specs but are supposedly conventionally rifled in some way. I would easily choose one of these latter models. I would also love to see a few macro pics of the bores of different models. Im not a defense nut, but philosophy is that no matter size or energy i want the gun to hit the target where it is aiming. And I dont think id have that confidence with a non rifled barrel.

First off, if you'll go to naaminis.com, they have a forum there with tons of good chrono info.

I own a short, lr and magnum model. They are all rifled appropriately and can be fairly accurate with practice.

NAA makes a good firearm and stands behind their work 100%. I carry the mag with the 1 5/8" barrel everyday and it has proven to withstand the worst conditions and still function. While some brands of ammo work better than others, that is true of every rimfire. All fo my guns have their favorite food and it was upp to me when I bought it to figure out which brands worked best.

I 100% recommend getting one.
