Does anyone know of any incident in which one of those little North American Arms revolvers was brandished or used in crime?

If not, they might seem even more cute and friendly to people hesitant to accept that a self-defense firearm could be a responsible choice.

(True, they are not optimal for general self-defense. But I would be happy if an anti-gun friend decided they were okay. It would be a first step.)

I can't recall ever hearing of one used in a crime but I would imagine they have been since thousands of them have been sold and they are very easily concealed. A 22 or 22 mag loaded with some hot hollow points is better than no gun at all for self defense. IMHO, they're probably one of the best belly to belly confrontation guns on the market. But I wouldn't use one at a distance greater than 5'.

They are also cheap to shoot and therefore people would tend to practice more with one.

1992 on a dark stretch of highway in South Carolina, during a traffic stop a dope dealer shot and killed a S.C. Highway Patrolman with a single shot from a .22lr NAA mini that went into the side between the ribs and cut a major artery....the Highway Patrolman bleed out in about one minute.....

the dope dealer fired the shot AFTER being shot in the abdomin 3 times.....

the dope dealer lived.....

all caught on tape, and very sad and hard to watch.......

thats the only verified account i can show where a NAA mini has been used in a crime...
