Had an itch lately to add a 44 mag to the collection. Had a couple in the past, but that was long long ago. Anyway, saw this on Gun Broker a couple weeks back and was lucky enough to win. A 629 no dash 6". I really like the P&R. Just a nice extra detail.

Thanks for the kind words all. In the past, I first had a 29-2 nickel I got at a pawn shop. To give you an idea of how long ago that was, I paid under $200 for it. I sold it to buy a blue 29-2. This was virtually new. No sign of a turn ring at all. Had wood presentation box, and even the cardboard box the wood box was shipped in. I used it as a partial trade to get a Freedom Arms 353, which I still have. Looking forward to taking the 629 to the range soon. Times sure change. I paid "almost" as much for three boxes of ammo, as I paid for the nickel 29.

Nice!
I have a P&Rd 8-3/8” 629 along with a couple Ruger SBHs, but wanted a shorter barrel length. Just because.
My LGS posted a used 329NG at a bargain price on their site on a Sat. afternoon. They are closed Monday but I was there when they opened on Tues.
I wanted shorter but not necessarily 2-3/4”. 4” would have been fine.
I don’t have a pic of the 329 as it is currently in gun jail.
Here is my 629 no dash “Long Tom” IMG_0172.jpeg

May God have mercy on your soul.....I've a 325, and it's an unpleasant handful with 230 Ball. Can't imagine anything near full power in your gun. Neat revo, but choose your loads carefully.
My 340SC doesn't see many magnums. Did you realize that "scandium" is an ancient Latin word meaning "mean kicking little slut"? ;)
Enjoy your gun.

That’s for your concern;) but I am planning on using it using .44 Spl.
Mainly just a range toy.

I like the 629 Mountain Gun and the Ruger Super Redhawk with the 21/2" ?? bbl. Seems to me the balance of the Ruger is real good and the weight is enough to handle recoil. Just sold My S&W DX Classic and my 629 8 3/8" er. Disabled and will never go shooting again unless get a home invasion. And that presupposes I wake up in time to do something.

Yep, and I'd love to find a .45 Colt version.
With moderate loads, the Mountain Gun is fun to shoot.
Cowboy, I will tell you, a now-late buddy had a pacemaker installed in his right shoulder, so he couldn't fire a rifle. I made a late-in-life handgunner of him, and he took a deer from the porch at camp. It pleased the hell out of him.
Good luck.
