Hello, again. I've been busy the past few days so haven't had
time to post here. Thanx for the information on the Paterson that
several people posted for me.
I've been googling the internet like crazy searching for any
take-down inst. for the Paterson but haven't had any luck so far.
Guess I will have to take a deep breath and begin working on my
Paterson in the near future. Will have to take it down eventually,
cleaning, changing broken springs, etc.
Some history about myself. My moniker "namdoc69" is because I spent
22 years in Uncle Sam's Canoe Club, as a hospital corpsman, which includes
a tour in Vietnam 1969 with a Marine grunt company.
I've been shooting black powder weapons off and on since the late 70's,
near 35 years. Don't claim to be any kind of an expert at it though, I'm
always learning something new, especially reading the posts on this forum
from other powder burners.
My first pixie-dust burner was a TC .50 Hawken rifle (flinter) about 1978 or so. Followed by a TC .45 Hawken rifle (cap lock) (stilll have both of them).
At one time I also owned a TC .36 Seneca rifle (cap-lock) and a TC
.45 Patriot pistol. (I still kick myself in the ass for trading those two guns away.
In the early 80's I got into cap & ball revolvers. My first was a .44 Colt
1860 (with a full-fluted cylinder/8in. barrel) Next was a .44 Colt 1860
stainless steel (still have both of them).
Then I purchased a Ruger OA, blue-steel, 71/2in barrel. A couple of years ago I purchased an R&D conversion cylinder for it so I could shoot .45 colt.
I also owned a ROA in stainless steel for a short while, then I sold it to
someone. (kick my ass again).
At the present time I own:
1. Colt Walker (Uberti)
2. Colt Walker (ASM) this was a kit gun.
3. 3rd model Dragoon (Uberti)
4. Colt .36 Navy (Pietta)
5. Colt 1860 - nickle plated (Pietta)
6. 2-58 Remies, 1-blue-steel, 1 brass frame
7. Starr SA revolver (Pietta)
8. .36 Texas Paterson (Pietta)
9. .45 1866 Winchester (yellowboy) 24in barrel
10. also have a faux Volcanic lever action repeating pistol. Got this
from a company that produces non-firing weapons (stage props)
The action does work. Got it on a display stand, just so people
can looke at it and exclaim, "*** is this thing?"
and that's all there is.

I'd say welcome to the sooty side Doc but dang, yer allready there.
Anywho..WELCOME to the forum.
"Uncle Sam's Canoe Club"...haha, i like that.
I figgered you was a Sailor.

Oh yean, kick yerself once for me for partin with that Seneca,( reeeeal sweet smookepole), and Patriot.
There's a .36 Seneca up the road at a local gun store in the back room.
Bugger is like new but DANG!! She's askin $600 for it.
I'd give 'er a smidge over half that... tops.

That thing jist balances and points so nice.
*sigh*

Jim, west pa

Oooh, yea. I should have sold the .50 & .45 TC's and kept the Seneca
and Patriot. Both of them were dead-on nail-drivers. Oh well, guess everyone is allowed to do something stupid every once in awhile.

Welcome back to the black, Doc!
And thank you for your service to your country.
Sounds like you're fairly well equipped, so just jump on in and get your feet wet.
Glad you're here.:)

Doc,
Thanks for being there!! When Marines are eating dirt and the bullets are flying, the Docs are up running to the wounded. I'm pretty sure they were told not to do that in Field Med School, but it didn't soak in with them. That's one of the reasons they are no longer sailors, but Marine Brothers!! Semper Fi!!
