If you DO possess a NC Concealed Handgun Permit, can you carry your LOADED gun concealed in your Vehicle?

Can you carry a loaded hand gun in a saddlebag on a motorcycle with a concealed handgun permit?

I can't seem to find a definitive answer, plenty of information on what to do if you Don't have a permit but if you Do, can you concealed a loaded weapon "about your person" in a vehicle?

TIA

Lets put it this way you have a NC-CHP and your weapon is concealed on your person while you are driving is it thus not concealed in your vehicle. On being stopped by law enforcement you must notify the officer of a presence of a weapon. You may carry a weapon in your vehicle with out a NC-CHP but it must be in plain sight.

Whether a firearm is loaded or unloaded, it is still defined as a "pistol or gun" under NC's concealed weapon law. Note that NC has a Concealed Handgun Permit rather than a concealed firearm or weapon permit.

Yes. The State Attorney General's summary of NC firearms laws contains the following on page 12:

By using the phrase "concealed about his or her person," this law makes it illegal to have a weapon concealed not only on a person, but also within a person's convenient control and easy reach.
