I just found this kinda neat and figured I'd share. I recently got an RCBS RC Supreme and its pretty nice, but I have to admit that I am a tad jealous of the "tube" primer disposal on the Lee Classic Cast.

While I was browsing around though I found the files for a 3d-printed catcher for it on Thingiverse (a website that lets people post 3D printable models of stuff they have made). It still sits behind the ram like the standard one but rather than the little cups you can add a flexible tube to divert the primers to a can or wherever you want. I downloaded the files and had a local guy print it out for me (cost me ~$20). Haven't connected the tube yet (don't have the right size and haven't made it to the store), but I've checked it for functionality and the primers seem to pop through just fine.

I may drill a small hole on the left hand side though and install a set-screw to hold it a little better. as it is it seems to work fine but the hold to the press isnt very tight.

Files are at:

Not sure how that would work, since the primers come out of the front of the ram not the back???

The primers fall out of the back of the ram. You may be thinking of the optional primer feed mechanism that uses the slot in the front part of ram.

Neat, works like the primer catcher on my RCBS RS-5 press (which will soon be PIF to a lucky THR member in a complete reloading kit).

Now, if you could "pay it forward" those 3D printed primer catchers to other THR members without 3D printers ... :D

UPDATE: Well, just realized there's no economy of scale so the cost of printed items will never go down ... unless the "ink" cost goes down.

Anyone know how much it would cost to get an injection mold set up for this item for 100/1000 quantity?

I'm not sure, but looking at the design of the older Rock Chucker press they might do that, but on the newer Supreme model they pop out of the back of the ram. The "window" for catching them is actually the same on this as on the stock part - it just diverts them to a tube rather than the little trays.

If I had one I honestly wouldn't mind printing a few for some members but I haven't taken that step yet - I had someone else print this one for me :). Honestly though I'm not sure why RCBS didn't design the original to be a bit closer to this.
