Neck knife lanyards : seeking advice

Here's pics. I'm using a custom made kydex holder for a Pentagon Elite in this (conceived due to Maryland's "penknife" loophole), so some variation is in order depending on the sheath type.

The knot I used is 4-strand Crown. Extra is intentionally left on for adjustment, and can be trimmed later. More slack makes it hang lower.

Putting this on once finished is a bit like putting on a T-shirt.

Very cool. Pics are really helpful to visualize. Thanks!

Must try that out. Looks like I'm going to learn some new knots.

Have you ever worn it all day? Comfortable for lengthy time?

13" leather thong - a really thin one. I hate beaded chains - pulls hair on my neck/upper back. But I don't want a heavy cord or something there. The light leather craft cord is very comfortable. Knife is one of the Breed little neckers from the group buy a few months back. Nice and light, kydex sheathe is nice. Tip of the sheath is on my sternum, a few inches above the zyphoid process.

The harness type setups are hard to achieve without having seen one first, so if you tried something similar I wouldn't write it off just yet...

That vid's a little goofy but once you watch the different configurations I think you may see the value. If you normally carry OWB you can adjust a good harness to put the knife in that same position.

Anyway the position at 3:00 ( edit - 3 minutes into the video, not 3 o clock on the belt line) is my favorite and the one I'd probably use if I had occasion to; if you properly tighten it you get the best of all worlds - some concealment under the upper arm; ease and versatility of neck carry; and accessibility and expedience of OWB or similar, since it doesn't move around.

The easy way to stop ball chain from pulling or otherwise irritating is to pull the inner cords our of 550 cord and slide the outer sheathing over it. This gives a smooth surface that stops the pulling of hair common with dog tag chain.
