Need 1x scope for Muzzle Loader? help...

Going to sight my ML in next week. In my state, only a 1x scope is allowed.

1. Do I use a 1x scope? If so, which one?
2. Do I use a red dot scope? If so, will my BSA (chinese) Red Dot hold up to the recoil?

PS: I don't have any iron sights on my ML, but I do have a mount and rings. I don't plan to put open sights on it.

I've heard both sides of the bsa so its a toss up.. Get what you can afford..

I find I prefer a red dot for low or no magnification. I took the 2X Leupold off the Contender and have a (discontinued) Bushnell Holosight on it. YMMV.

Scope for Muzzle loader

Dixie Gun Works has some nice brass tube scopes. They really look good on a muzzleloader. Check them out.
