Need 223 Rem Loading Advice

taliv,
My reloads will be strictly for the range. If I place the rifle into duty use, I was thinking about using the Hornady TAP loadings. They have been getting alot of press lately, and seem to be a pretty good load.
tory,
I considered the Dillon carbides, but... $114 is hard to swallow. I don't mind the amount so much, because I know they're a quality product. I just don't know that I'll shoot this gun enough to justify the expense. I shoot mostly pistol. I bought the AR180B so I have something to play with when my shooting partner wants to hit the rifle range. He enjoys his EBR's and is building up a small collection. Gotta keep up appearances, y'know? :D Perhaps down the road I'll look at them again. That being said, anyone using the Lee dies? Good decision? I have a few of their pistol sets and have been quite impressed. Their 4 die pistol sets offer good performance and are a real bargain. I also selected a Lyman headspace guage, as it seems good practice to use one to properly adjust the sizer die. My Midway shopping cart is getting quite heavy.

You still have to lube cases for carbide dies in bottle neck rifle cartridges, Dillon says this on their website. According to Dillon the reason for the carbide dies in 223 is for wear resistance, like for commercial users, that the standard 223 die is fine for normal use.

For high volume users, such as commercial reloaders, law enforcement agencies, and high power or service rifle competitors, we also offer .223 and .308 die sets with a full-length carbide sizing die. Lubrication is still required...

BTW Powder Valley has Accurate AA2230C, new powder rather than the pulldown, for $65 for 8 lbs, you still have to pay the haz mat, but I never can understand why people would pay more for pulldown powder over new powder.
