I recently picked up a Rossi 92 in 357, 16" barrel. Been trying to get the sights adjusted.

As it shoots now, I have the correct elevation, but im hitting 6 inches to the rigth of the bull.

If I hold 6 inches left I'm dead on. So which way do I need to drift the rear sight?

If I remember correctly, to move point of impact to the left, i should drift the rear sight to the right? Correct?

NO.

Move the front sight the opposite directing you want the POI to change.

Move the rear sight the same direction you want the POI to change.

Instead of trying to remember the "rules" try this: Visually align the sights with your desired point of impact. Think about which way the barrel would need to move to put the shot on target. Now you know the relative movement needed between the barrel and either the front or rear sight.

Exactly. Approaching things with a practical way of thinking isn't always a bad first try.
