Doesn't drifting the front sight of a gun have the opposite effect of adjusting the rear sight? In other words, if I move the rear sight to the left, the point of impact goes to the left. but if I moved the front sight to the left without moving the rear one, wouldn't the point of impact go to the right?

Yep, you are correct.

I always remember, I need to go in the OPPOSITE direction on the front sight regarding where I need the bullets to move to. Bullet needs to go left, push front sight to the right.

Not to confuse things, but think of it visually if it helps. You have a group to the right hand side of your bullseye. Drift the front sight TOWARD the group to push it to the center.

Clear as mud? :)
