My go to Accurate 2015 has gotten a little expensive to plink with. Need some suggestions other than CFE that meters easy. My Crapatalk search feature yielded nothing on here, hence the question.

Thanks in advance.

CFE-223 ... just started using it, seems to be available locally, so far so good. Was recommended to me by several folks locally. Meters nicely, I don't have much to compare to it, as I just started loading 223, used Varget for my 204, but was more expensive and not always available. For plinking CFE is a bit cheaper and readily available around SW MI. As usual remember your YMMV

I'm really liking Ramshot TAC, and Varget is great also. Seen a lot of ARComp powder on the shelf lately but have never used it.

I don't know how difficult it is to find but I gotta couple pounds of Benchmark I've been using. Shoots great meters fantastic with the RCBS Uniflo.

H-322 is a good plinking powder for .223 with lighter bullets.
It won't give max velocities, but accuracy is good and charge weights are low which helps keep costs down.

BL-C(2) is good, and at $22/lb locally is probably the most economical as well. Other good ones are W748 and H335 as are many others, but those three are the least expensive around here

I know you said you are going to try H335. I'm just replying to tell you that is what I have been using since I started reloading the .223. Like already said, it meters very well and for me accuracy has been good. For hunting ammo used in my .223 bolt action rifle I used Gadget but all my AR ammo is made with H-335.

Over the past few years I think there have been a handful of powders released dedicated to the .223 and reports say they are all good. I'm still using my standby and will for a while since I have quite a bit on my shelf. TAC would be a good choice too but I think it's price is no lower than AA2015. (unfortunately)

Cfe 223 works good for me first 3 shot group after doing a ladder workup

TenDriver, glad you posted the question. I'm starting to get into the 223 reloading. With bullets and brass on the way, I already have some H335, but was looking at what other powder options would suit.

It was my first shots after doing the ladder workup and picking the best load and that was the first bottleneck cartridge I've reloaded. In fact, had my first stuck case the week before with the same batch of brass.

55 grain vmax with I think 26.4 gr cfe 223 shot out of a savage 12 with rest and rear bag ,scoped of course, at a 100 yrds. I saw the first hole and wasn't sure where the others went. It was 1/2014 . I just keep the pic in my phone. Makes me warm and fuzzy.

Sorry I'm not home so I'll check my reloading log for the load. Cfe 223 meters very well. I did the charging and seating on my dillon 550. Only shoots about moa with my AR with the same rest and rear bag.

Alliant's 2000 MR is available online, and works VERY well in my AR and M1-A Service Match rifles. Initial testing showed high velocity, great accuracy in both guns, and reduced carbon deposits in the M1-A's gas system.

I have long used Accurate 2520 and 2015, but am switching over to Alliant's offering.

I went with W748. I can get a .8" group at 100yds with 55gn vmax with 16"ar 1/7 twist
