I've been using IMR 4895 for loading 5.56 and .308, but now I can't find any. Thinking of using IMR 4064 instead. Questions, comments, or other suggestions greatly encouraged...

Although you didn't mention the bullet weights you are using. IMR4064 will do OK in 223 with 53gr bullets and up, and will do well with all bullet weights in the 308.

For 5.56 and .308 I like TAC and -4064 (either IMR or AA). IMR-4320 also shoots well in both.

For .223/5.56 - BL-C(2) or Varget are very good choices
(testing Benchmark with .223/5.56 this week)

For .308 - Varget, H-4895, and Benchmark are all great options.

There are planty of other options here... but these are the ones I use with great success...

Cheers...

Alliant Reloder 10x

If this powder is available, I'd highly recommend its usage in .223 Remington application from 36 to 60 grain application, especially with a 1-in-12" twister. NOTHING I've tried can best the velocity with small rifle magnum primers. Accuracy follows velocity. A .224" 36 grain Barnes Varmint Grenade with a muzzle velocity of 3965 fps backed by Alliant 10x is extremely accurate and SAFE. Of course, you must determine the powder grain usage by working upward, half-the-fun right? Cliffy

For 55 grain to 63 grain 223 rounds i reccomend Ramshot Tac and I just follow the data on their website.

Vithavouri N-133 is very good stuff.

VV n133 is amazing for light bullets in 308. A bit fast burning for 150's and up if you are looking for velocity.
