Need a non-MIM ambisafety for SIG 1911

I want to have a competent 'smith install an ambi-safety for my GSR, as I'm a lefty. I need a good machined or forged part, rather than MIM to keep with the pistol's theme. It also should be beadblasted stainless if possible. Would rather have it with equallly dimensioned levers, as opposed to a lot of the safetys that I've seen that have a wider left-side lever than the right side. In fact, if they make one with a wider right-side, that would be optimal.

Any ideas where I can get this piece?

Ed Brown wide Ambi would be my choice.

I would get the Ed Brown Tactical Ambi Safety. The Tactical is dimensionally equal on both sides, but the safety levers are narrow. JeffC suggested the wide ambi version, which would be better if you want the wider safety levers. Either part is available directly from Ed Brown, or through a variety of distributors, such as Brownells.

The reason for the narrow thumbpiece on the right side is to reduce or eliminate the chance that in the process of holstering, carrying, or removing the pistol from the leather the safety may get wiped down to the "off" position. If you go to a safety with wide thumbpieces be sure to be careful in your choice of a holster(s).

Am a Lefty too. Use both Brown and King Ambi's.
FWIW, My preference is to thin the left paddle to ca. 1/8" and
leave right paddle wide on a Brown wide ambi.
King's design tends not to let the right paddle loosen up over time.
It's very well made but is not as nicely contoured and angled like Browns
and has abrupt almost "sharp" edges that can be smoothed, etc.

Funny....
I stopped by Novak's last week and had them install the Brown tactical ambi safety. They even bead-blasted it no charge and installed it while I waited.

Great little place to hang out and drool.
