its going to be carried in the side cargo pocket of a pair of cargo pants or shorts in the summer time. doesn't neet to be anything too fancy, just so it doesn't print conspiciously. i've never shopped for a pocket holster before. any suggestions? BTDT advice? thanks all.

I have a pocket holster made by Mika's Pocket Holsters . Expect very reasonable pricing and good service from Robert Mika. Not the prettiest but very functional and durable and after all, it stays in your pocket.

I have one for a P-11 from Mika too . Inexpensive and they work . I admit I prefer an Alessi or a PCS leather but I like my Kahr PM9 better too ...Tom

You've already been given some good options.

Another option would be a Galco pocket holster intended for a Walther PPK. It woks for me.

good stuff. thanks guys! i checked out all the links and i'm playing eeny meeny miney mo now. i also found this http://www.desantisholster.com/n38.html and this http://www.action-direct.com/64.htm that might do the job too. thanks again for the links! i just ordered a new 12 round mag, finger rest, trigger shoe and 8.5 main spring, and hogue hand-all for it too. should be a great carry piece when its all together.

Bobarino,
<not gonna pimp my own stuff> MUST RESIST!!

once piece of advice...besides getting the model by RJ Hedley, or www.Hbeleatherworks.com

If ya gonna use a trigger shoe, make sure the maker KNOWS you are gonna use one...Most of us fit the holster inside the trigger guard...This can be a bad thing if it is fitting close to the trigger...Just FYI dude..

I carry the P-11 as well...Gotta get me some of those mags...

Going the economy route - -

There are some fine suggestions posted above.

On the other hand, if you want to explore the concept without investing truly significant money, you might look at the DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster. I've been using the same one for P32, P3AT, and lightweight .38s for some time now. (No, it does NOT cover the trigger guard of the little revolvers. ;) ) Sorry I can't tell you what size Nemesis holds the P11. Price? Around $15, IIRC.

Almost the same holster, with different construction comes from Uncle Mike's. The DeSantis seems to have a bit more stiffness, though. I believe UM sells theirs for about $12.00.

Best,
Johnny

thanks for all the suggestions! i just ordered one of these:

i like the look of some of the molded leather ones but i want something that isn't an exact imprint of the gun. to me it seems like that would just make the same impression on the outside of the pocket in leather instead of metal. i like the idea of the "pouch" looking ones that are more or less flat on the outside side. i don't need flatness on the inside, my leg won't be shocked at the sight of a gun. i need flatness on the outward side of the holster.

i don't think the trigger shoe will have an impact on the ones i ordered but good advice for future reference. thanks again all.

Just an FYI on this statement: " like the look of some of the molded leather ones but i want something that isn't an exact imprint of the gun. to me it seems like that would just make the same impression on the outside of the pocket in leather instead of metal. i like the idea of the "pouch" looking ones that are more or less flat on the outside side. i don't need flatness on the inside, my leg won't be shocked at the sight of a gun. i need flatness on the outward side of the holster."

...actually that's how the leather ones are -- the molded side is against your leg, while the flat non-contoured side (the "flatness") is face out to disguise and prevent printing.

I Make Holsters

I make leather holsters. I make them to fit YOUR gun and YOUR body type. They are all leather and hand stitched and molded. My prices are also EXTREMELY reasonable.
